The 2026 legislative session adjourned on May 30, 2026!

It's campaign season again — and I wanted to reflect on the big things I supported and got across the finish line this biennium!​

• I voted YES to lower property taxes for homeowners by over $110 million in 2026

• I voted YES to reduce income taxes on social security and retirement benefits — including the

full exemption of military pensions!

• I voted NO on Act 73 — the massive education reform bill that hurt small and rural schools and didn't get us cost savings.

There were many other pieces of legislation that I was glad to introduce, pass, and get included into larger bills:

​

• The Greer Amendment to S.212 protected land rights for all Vermonters by setting in place a path forward for landowners whose neighbors build a septic system that "overshadows" onto their property — this has been longstanding land rights issue in Vermont for over 50 years, and we got the first step done!

• H.370, a bill I sponsored to regulate cryptocurrencies in Vermont was included in the large banking omnibus bill. Though it wasn't everything I had hoped for, it made sure that no public pensions were invested in cryptocurrency products — protecting Vermonters' money for the years to come.

• H.211, a bill I co-sponsored on data privacy, passed — becoming Act 138. This puts in place protections for all users so they have control over their data and it can't be sold without their permission.

• H.84, a bill I co-sponsored on telehealth issues, expands access to low cost care for Vermonters — saving trips in the car and expanding access for rural folks.
